Bringing Asbestos to Englands Road Waste Management Facility

Englands Road Waste Management Facility accepts NON-FRIABLE (BONDED ASBESTOS) material only.

All loads are only accepted with prior booking, on approved days and on compliance with the below conditions.

PRIOR BOOKING:

Call 02 6648 4000 at least 24hrs in advance to be allocated a 30-minute time slot

APPROVED DAYS:

NON-FRIABLE (BONDED ASBESTOS) Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACM) must meet the following conditions:

Must be less than10m²
Material must be double-bagged or double-wrapped and sealed in heavy duty 200micron thick plastic
Must be clearly marked as “Caution Asbestos” to the exterior
Individual packages must be 20kg maximum – enabling you to lift each package from your vehicle and place it in the designated asbestos disposal area. No pushing or tipping from vehicle is allowed.
All Asbestos material MUST BE unloaded by hand, no assistance is provided by Council staff or mechanical equipment and tipping is NOT permitted. Customers must unload their own waste.
No friable Asbestos products are accepted. This includes fire doors.
Friable asbestos products and contaminated soil are NOT accepted
All vehicles transporting asbestos loads must use the weighbridge.

Who regulates asbestos waste

The handling and storage of asbestos waste at worksites is regulated by SafeWork NSW under the provisions of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017.
The storage, disposal and transport of asbestos waste is regulated by the EPA or your local council under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 and the Protection of the Environment Operations (Waste) Regulation 2014
